The Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV) is pleased to host the 13th South China Sea International Conference titled: “Looking back to a brighter future”, on November 18-19, 2021 in Hanoi, at:

For over a decade since its inauguration in 2009, the Conference series has become one of the most prominent regional forums on the South China Sea which have gathered leading experts to brainstorm a wide range of issues from geopolitics, maritime security, international law, marine-based economic development, marine ecology etc., which are deemed important to regional peace, security and sustainable development. 

This year, the event will be paneled by around 40 high-profile speakers and prominent experts who will be joined by an audience of hundreds of on-site and online participants. Our regular participants include senior officials, members of the diplomatic corps, business executives, leading scholar and academics, and the informed public throughout the world. The conference will provide participants with a unique opportunity to comprehensively analyse the state of affairs of the South China Sea and beyond, discuss measures to promote maritime cooperation, and explore pathways towards the enhancement of security and prosperity of the Indo-Pacific.
